We at ACTS ER MW know the importance of being prepared at all times. One never knows when their knowledge will be required of them.
The fact that a youth can decide to become PREPARED and take the additional classes in order to become a Youth Leader in ACTS International, this one choice can be one of the determining factors that could save their live and the lives of the people around them.
Every young person who is chosed to be a Youth Leader in the ACTS ER MW Division is required to be educated and trained.
In addition, every Youth Leader in the ACTS ER MW Division is required to have the following: A One must have a "GO KIT" B One must also have an Emergency Kit that will contain everything needed for you to survive a minimum of 96 hours. Everything outside of some personal items, can be purchased at Wal*Mart.
This 96-hour kit needs to be kept with you at all times. Why? If you have one in your home, but you are in your vehicle and a catostrophic emergency hits, well... you know where this is going. Make one for your home and one for you vehicle if you think that your life is worth saving?
ACTS ER MW Team Members are a part of the solution, not a part of the problem!
C The more educated and trained one is, the more involved they will become if they are expecting to become a leader in "The Army Of Every One. "
Education & Training is the key in being successful in Emergency Services of any profession: Fire, EMT, Paramedic, Search & Rescue, Etc. NOTE: There will be additional "required training" that will come from the Deputy Director of the Team you are involve with.
Don't get skiddish here. Continuing education is required of all people who work in emergency services on the scene of emergency incidents. it is just something that we all have to deal with.
In addition, Leadership Team Members MUST PASS A HAZMAT AWARENESS CLASS.
Here are three locations for this training: Idaho State University has a WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) course on CD which requires one to be on the internet while taking the class... CLICK HERE.
Michigan State University offers several courses of which one is Hazmat Awareness. Click Here.
Texas A&M has several on-line courses including a "Pro board certified WMD Awareness Course. Click Here.
According to Lt. Bill Reese, Hazmat Commander, Idaho State Police, all these are excellent courses.
